To all my blogging friends

Ha! I got rid of my linker. I think that thing only worked five times in the last two months. Now, I switched to blogroll (I sound as if doing a commercial). Anyway, If you're not yet included in my link, just leave me a message, an e-mail or a coment so that I can add you in my list.
Bongga!Marunong na ako mag-blogroll...hahaha!

Movie date on the 30th of May

My favorite girls are back. This time, they are out to conquer the big screen. Give it up for Carrie,Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte. YES!!!! You read it right! Sex and the City is officially a movie come May 30th, 2008.
How I truly, truly loved watching SATC when it was still a series in HBO. I would watch it during its timeslot and would even watch the reruns even if I didn't really miss the show. I loved the clothes, the shoes, the twist, the drama, the narration...I loved everything about it.
I cannot however identify myself with one character. I believe that I am all four of them in different ways. I must say though, I find myself thinking through things the way Carrie does.
What was great about SATC is that you grow with the characters. You catch up with what's happening with them as if they were your set of friends. I totally adore the breakfast meetings of the girls and somehow wished that my girlfriends and I actually had that kind of ritual. The bonding was almost perfect, but it doesn't mean it's unrealistic. SATC has become an addiction for most people because it shows you life in a nutshell -- problems, work, struggles, opinions, family, love, heartbreak, sex, lust, faith, friendship, embarassment, laughter, drama.
Will Carrie and Big ever get to exhcange I do's? Will Samantha forever be single? I can't wait to find out.

Lullaby Malubay!

I must admit that I am an American Idol fanatic. YES. Maybe it's that side of me that actually loved singing (I'm not sure if singing loves me back the same way...harhar) that draws me too much to the show. So far, my favorite was season 4 way back the time of Carrie Underwood and Bo Bice. I am a fan of both. For me, that season was by far the one where the last two contenders were both worthy (almost equal) of becoming american idols.

The real deal for me though is that every year, I hope and pray that a Filipino may get to be a contestant in A.I. This season I was so happy because a kababayan made it. Proud to say that she is still in the running to become the next American Idol.

I am crossing my fingers that the next episodes, she would be able to choose a song that would really fit her. I mean she definitely's got the talent. But sometimes the songs are not the perfect match for her. I think she had the most consistent voice as far as the other contestants are concerned. Lullaby or no lullaby, I'm rooting for Ramiele Malubay.

Bato-Bato....Springs!

I was out for the past few days, far from any internet access but ow I'm making it up to tell you what has happened. The Lenten Season paved way to a bonding session of three great families. This story is all about our Holy week vacation. For my narration purposes, let me introduce to you the cast of characters:

The Junior Driz family:
The daddy: Dong
The mommy: Jing
The baby: Zye

The Senior Driz family:
Dadski: Dong's dad, Galo
Mamski: Dong's mom, Weng
The boys: Dong's brothers: Nikki and Derick

The Donor family:
Daduds: Jng's dad, Cel
Mamu: Jing's mom, Fe
Sis: Jing's sister, Owie

March 20, 2008
4:30 A.M.

I woke up with Zye and Dong beside me, smiling ear to ear. They were all set and ready to go. Coming from Pasig, we had to get a head start to avoid traffic. Zye was up and about. I think our son is excited. Somehow he knew he was going somewhere today. Mamu was already with us. So we headed-off to our destination: Bato Spirngs, San Pablo Laguna.

8:00 A.M.
The Junior Driz together with Mamu arrived at Bato Springs. The Senior Driz was still on their way because they had to wait for Derick who was coming from a night-shift job. While waiting, Mamu and Zye went for some early pictorials.

9:00 A.M.
While waiting for the senior Driz family, Dong and I decided to watch Highschool Musical 1 since I have not, at all, watched it while Mamu and Zye took a nap.

11:45 A.M.
The senior Driz family arrived. We started fixing our menu for lunch.

1:30 P.M
Was about to have lunch. Everyone was having fun playing with Zye and looking at this cute picture of him and our cottage neighbor’s baby, Isabel. The two looked cute in their picture. Zye’s soulmate? Haha...our boy is too young for that!!!!

2:30 P.M.
Everyone went swimming except for Mamu and Zye. Owie was still on their company outing at Dalampasigan Resort.

6:40 P.M
Owie arrived while we were busy preparing dinner.

10:00 P.M.
Sweet dreams.

March 21, 2008
6:30 A.M.
I woke up before Zye and Dong did so that I can help out with breakfast. The whole gang, including Zye, was already up at around 7:00 A.M. After breakfast, all of us decided to take a dip in the pool…including Zye. Of course, we wouldn’t be letting him in the pool. We brought his own pool! We filled it up with lukewarm water and we were gonna let him float around the pool with us.

8:30 A.M.
Everyone headed to the pool happy and excited. All cameras were ready for the big event: Zye’s first swimming pool encounter. Unfortunately our baby boy was already a bit sleepy. Naturally when we placed him in his floating pool, he cried. Together with Zye, I headed back to our room. Our poor baby was already sleeping even before we got to the room.

11:30 A.M
Wet and hungry. All the swimming, dipping and picture taking activities had everyone starving. For lunch, we had Tinapa, chickendog and hotdogs with scrambled eggs. After lunch, some went for a snooze while the rest of us chatted. At around 4:00 P.M. Dong, Derick and I went out for a swim while everyone was still sleeping. Actually, we only spent around 45 minutes swimming. The rest of our time was spent posing for the camera.

5:30 P.M
Dong and I started preparing dinner. We were having adobo, sisig and itlog na maalat. (Goodbye diet!) By 7:00 P.M. everybody was up and awake and dinner was served. After dinner we all decided to go to the pavilion and invade the videoke machine. We still had to wait for our turn though because the group ahead of us was still singing their hearts out. Oh yeah, and Zye was with us as well. I was trying to put him to sleep but he thought I was just playing with him. So instead of stressing myself out to make him fall to sleep, we followed the group and guess what…he snoozed off a few minutes after we arrived at the pavilion. Hehehe. I guess he just didn’t want to be left behind!

11:00 P.M.
Nightie-night!

March 22, 2008
6:30 A.M
Woke up and after a few minutes started packing up our things. Vacation is over. Back to reality once more. When daduds comes home for a vacation, I think we will visit Bato Springs again. Can’t wait for the next bonding session.

THE END.

Kainis!

Haay.....so sad the the linker is (almost) always down. I thought of having it in our site so that t will be easier for people to just add their names on the list and I, on the other hand, have an instant link to their site. So now, I've got tons of new blogging friends that wants to share links and I am not able to readily add them because my linker is not available. *SIGH* Suggestions of a better linker, anyone???

Of ancient times

Hi. I am Jown. And I was a movie addict.

My husband and I were movie addicts...but the addiction slowly lessened since last year. Maybe it was the pregnancy, maybe it was because we're now so eager to go home every night to see or son. But we use to watch three movies every week -- be it local or foreign films, drama, comedy, horror, suspense, fantasy, action, whatever suits our mood -- and for us nothing beats watching a film on the widescreen.

Not that we don't watch movies anymore, it's just that now, we actually choose which film we'd like to see best on the widescreen. Last week, we went out for a movie date to see 10,000 B.C.

The title would probably make you think of things such as tribal, ancient, jungle, beasts or prehistoric languages. Well, those are exactly our thoughts. So the movie started right as far as our imagination is concerned. There were people belonging to a tribe and costumes were definitely thousands of years ago. But then the actors started talking in English and we were quite surprised because we had our minds set that there will be a lot of reading during the film because of subtitles. It was good though because we can actually concentrate on watching the film itself. Some parts were narrated making you feel as if it was sort of documentary.

The film's first part will make you think it's about being a warrior or how people survived in the old times. As the plot builds, your theories will be challenged because there weren't much fighting scenes. It was in the middle part that you will realize that 10,000 B.C. is more of lovestory that happened thousands of years ago. It's a lovestory disguised as a prehistoric action/suspense film.

Yes. It was about love. It was about a guy no very liked in his tribe, falling in love and going after the one whom his heart desired. He battled the wild animals, the scorching sun, the steep mountains and went across the vast water to bring back home his one true love. In his journey towards his great love, he found his own courage, learned to believe in his abilities and led people from different tribes to rise above the slavery and fight for their own lives.

Dramatic? It was a bit of that. The quest was successful but the movie wasn't quite a hit for me and my husband. We should have watched Vantage Point instead.

Pay Up!!!!!

NOW, who dare says my opinion is worthless?????

The Bee encounter

Last Sunday, March 9, 2008, Zye attended his first birthday party. Dong and I were excited as well because it was the first kid's party that we got invited to since we have become parents. Of course, our son won't be able to enjoy the whole experience but the sight of balloons, kids running around, party hats and banners were enough to make our baby boy kick and squeak.

I'm ready to party!

What's that Tita Owie???

Cool!!!!!! Where's the Disney Channel?

While waiting for the party to start, Zye and my sister Owie were playing around. Dong and I on the other hand were busy taking pictures of Zye. The games started and Zye was still bus in his own little world, oblivious to his environment simply enjoying his Tita Owie's T.V. phone. We were looking forward to Zye's reaction when Jollibee comes in. Will he cry? Will he laugh? Will he stare blankly and wonder why this creature is bigger than everyone else. We were about to find out. Unfortunately, before the big happy Bee arrived, Zye snoozed out. I think his excitement exhausted him too much. Oh well, better luck next time.

My sister, Owie, Me, Dong, Birthday girl Anne, Zye and Anne's mom, Buena

Party pooper...hehehe.

Paint a picture

They say a picture paints a thousand words. Well, in this case, Zye definitely painted a thousand words and expressions. Come to think of it, I think he painted a story out of each picture. Hay, so kulit our baby boy!

The oPPPs that come our way

Yes! I am now officially into the world of paid blogging. Moreover, I am now a certified 3P girl. Why 3P? Well, 3P actually stands for PayPerPost. Earn extra money for every opportunity you grab. I’ve been hearing about PayPerPost from friends who are into paid blogging themselves. So out of curiosity, I went to their site and to my surprise I ended up signing up immediately. Who can resist earning right away after the first post? The site was so user friendly and besides I was not going to let this opportunity pass by so quickly.

In PayPerPost, you have a lot (and I mean a lot) of opportunities to choose from. What’s more exciting about PayPerPost is that you can actually start accepting direct opportunities even before your blog gets approved. You read it right and you’ve got to try it yourself to believe it. It made me regret not having signed up earlier. It felt like thousands of dollars have gone down the drain just because I was too lazy to check them out before. Oh well, I would just have to make up for the lost time. This is the beginning of a lot more exciting posts for me! If you have a blog, the go ahead and get paid to blog ! Who knows, you might be able to buy that shoes you've been dying to have even if your boss doesn't give you an increase!!!!

5 and up

Zye turned 5 last Tuesday, March 4. Nope...not 5 years old. Just 5 months, hehehe. But for sure, there are a lot of milestones to look forward to. Right now, he makes more sounds than the usual, talks to his toys more often, and laughs out loud every now and then. He enjoys seeing himself in the mirror. He absolutely hates being left alone in the crib when he is awake and he knows that I'm not doing anything (such a smart kid!) He sings himself to sleep, drools more often than not, kicks faster now and he is heavier than ever. I've upgraded his shirts to large because the medium sized ones are a bit fit already. He stares at the T.V. as if he understands what's going on and follows me and his dad as if always wanting to find out where we are going. Sometimes, I feel he is a 5 year old kid trapped in a 5 months old body.
Naahh...that's just exaggerating it.

Eating Machine

Another milestone for our son. His doctor wanted to vary his diet so that he may have more fiber. He now can eat cereals and fruits. Yes! Our baby is truly growing up fast. It was so much fun seeing him eat for the first time although he didn't look as if it was his first time. He was kicking and (almost) screaming for more. Tomorrow, he will be on his fifth month. How time flies so fast. We love you Zye!
